Although "The Seventh One Tour" was very profitable, after it was finished the band decided to replace lead singer Joseph Williams. Originally, the band wished to reunite with authentic vocalist Bobby Kimball to document new songs for a best hits record, but the record firm as an alternative insisted they rent South African singer Jean-Michel Byron. Before Byron was brought in, the band recorded "Goin' Home" with Kimball. This track was later featured on the Toto XX album as an "unreleased music." When Byron was introduced in he and Toto recorded 4 new songs which had been included on their biggest hits album Past to Present 1977–1990, launched in 1990.
